After a rough 2011, my 2012 resolution to pay more attention to my fiction is in full swing. After a brief hiatus at the beginning of this month as I dealt with a transition to a new job, I have two new stories up on Smashwords. This means that as of now, all but 3 of the stories I finished before 2012 are now published in some form! And those last three are waiting on decisions from editors of various publications….
Anyway, without further ado, here are my newest short stories up on Smashwords, available for $0.99 each:
First, in “Baseball and a Broad,” Simon is at a bar watching his beloved Cleveland Indians lose an important game. He’s sitting next to a brash woman named Cara. He doesn’t think she’s his type, and yet as the game goes on, he finds himself entranced. And when Cleveland breaks his heart, he can’t help but turn to her for comfort.
In “Off The Record,” Kelly is floored when rock star John Wylde walks into the laundromat where she’s spending her evening. For all his confidence, John feels out of place realizing that the entire place is shocked to see him hanging around — as though celebrities never have broken appliances. Kelly and John strike up a conversation, and when her clothes are dry, they’re off to make beautiful music together.
